How video downloads work

Video downloads is similar to buying a DVD. Once the content is purchased, it's downloaded and stored in your phone’s memory. You can watch it as many times as you like, in and out of coverage, because the content 'lives' in your phone. A short video clip usually takes around one minute to download, depending on the quality of your 3G signal.

How video streaming works

Video streaming is like watching TV. You can only watch it 'on the spot' when you are in a 3G coverage zone. The benefit of video streaming is you don't have to wait for the video to download.

Important information

  • If you are having trouble with your video settings, try our Mobile Phone Configurator
  • If you are on prepaid and there is an error with your video download/stream, a TXT message will be sent to you confirming that you weren't charged for the failed download/stream
  • If you move out of a 3G coverage zone, your video download/stream will become inconsistent and most likely stop completely
  • TXT and PXT® are automatically accepted by your phone during downloads/streams, and can cause a 5-10 second pause in your video download/stream
  • You can answer or reject calls while video streaming. When you answer a call your video stream is disconnected. If you reject a call, it will result in a 5-10 second pause, after which your video stream will resume
