What to do if you need to find or change your Wi-Fi network password

If you’re trying to connect a Wi-Fi capable device to your Pocket WiFi Pro or Extreme and you’ve forgotten the Wi-Fi password, double tapping the power button will display the password on the screen. On the Pocket WiFi 4G it'll appear on the screen if you press the menu button and then select info. If you haven't changed the default password your Pocket WiFi came with, you can also find it printed on the device itself. The password can also be changed through the online dashboard.

How it works

  1. To connect Wi-Fi capable devices to your Pocket WiFi, you will need the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (WiFi key)
  2. Your Pocket WiFi is assigned a Wi-Fi network name and password straight out of the box. You may want to change these to make them easier to remember, or to further enhance security
  3. Instructions to change the Wi-Fi password vary depending on the model of Pocket WiFi you’re using. Use the links below to find instructions for your Pocket WiFi model:

Finding your network name and password

Where’s the network name and password located?

Pocket WiFi devices are setup to use a Wi-Fi password by default so you’ll need to know what this is and where you can find it before you can connect your Wi-Fi compatible devices. The location of the network name and password varies between different Pocket WiFi models so check below for the model you’re using.

If you have not changed these details, you will find them printed inside the back cover of your Pocket WiFi:

  • Your network name is labelled as 'SSID'
  • Your password is labelled as 'WIFI KEY'
