Request reconnection of a prepaid number

You are able to request reconnection of your mobile number for up to six months from the date it was disconnected provided it was not disconnected due to receiving harassing calls, or ported / transferred out of Vodafone Prepaid.

This process is only to be followed when:

  • Your mobile number has been disconnected due to no recharge being completed in the last 395 days; or
  • Your mobile number has been disconnected as you registered a SIM and didn't recharge within 90 days

Step-by-step guide

Step 1

Purchase a new prepaid SIM pack from a Vodafone store or a participating retailer

Step 2

Register the prepaid SIM pack

Step 3

Call 1555 with your Vodafone customer account PIN

Important information

  • If the account holder is deceased and you call to reconnect the number, the new owner will need to fax a copy of the death certificate and evidence that you are authorised to act on behalf of the deceased (e.g. Power of Attorney, executor of the estate) to 1300 450 684
  • Only the primary contact on the customer account or authorised company representative (for Company/Business accounts) can request reconnection
  • A number that has been disconnected (or changed) due to harassment cannot be reconnected as it must complete a full 12 months in quarantine
  • A number that has been disconnected for more than six months cannot be reconnected. This six months starts from the date of disconnection
