How to reset your Pocket WiFi data counter

Resetting your counter

You can use the data counter in your Pocket WiFi dashboard to quickly get a rough estimate of your usage, but to use it to reliably monitor your usage each month you'd need to reset it on your bill cycle date.

The volumes listed in the Pocket WiFi dashboard are approximate only.  The most reliable way to check your usage is either through our website with My Vodafone or by sending a TXT to 1512. We'd recommend you do this periodically to check your exact level of usage.

How it works

  1. The Pocket WiFi data counter tallies your usage since you've started using it or the counter was last reset
  2. To synchronise the total volume with your billing period, you'll need to reset the counter on the first day of your bill cycle, we explain how below
  3. If you're not sure of your bill cycle date, here's how to check it
  4. Instructions to reset the data counter vary depending on the model of Pocket WiFi you’re using. Check the step-by-step guide below for the Pocket WiFi Pro, Extreme and 4G. If you’re using the Pocket WiFi or Pocket WiFi 2, click here for instructions.

Step 1

Open your web browser on any device connected via Wi-Fi to the Pocket WiFi, and enter http://pocket.wifi (or http://192.168.0.1) into the address bar, and press the ‘Enter’ or ‘Return’ key.

If you don’t have a device connected via Wi-Fi, connect the Pocket WiFi using the Micro USB cable from your PC and then click on the short cut icon on your desktop.

Step 2

Your total volume is listed on the right hand side of this page.  To reset it, you'll need to log into the dashboard by entering your Pocket WiFi password in the top right corner.

If you haven't changed your Pocket WiFi password, use the default password 'admin'.

If you can't recall your Pocket WiFi password you can restore factory settings on your Pocket WiFi. This should be done only as a last resort, as it will reset all of your personalised Pocket WiFi settings.

Step 3

Your total volume will now be underlined indicating it is a link.  If it isn't underlined, it means you haven't logged in properly, so make sure you enter the right password in the top-right corner.

Click 'Total volume'.
