You can restore your BlackBerry Bold 9900 to its factory defaults through the phone's settings.
How it works
Please be aware that this guide details how to completely wipe your phone and restore it to its factory settings. Once the process is complete your phone will be set up like it's brand new, out of the box . If you simply wish to restart your phone because it has frozen or is acting irregularly, you can do so by:
- Press and hold the Alt key
- While holding down the Alt key, press and hold the Right Shift key
- With both of these buttons still pressed, press the Delete key
You should now be holding all 3 keys simultaneously. Refer to the image below for the physical location of the keys mentioned above.
NOTE: If you’re unable to access the settings menu of your phone, first try
removing and replacing the battery, and then turning the phone
ON, in order to restart your phone
The following method is especially useful if your phone continually freezes or fails to respond or you’ve forgotten the security locks you’ve set up to access the phone
- Restoring your Bold 9900 to factory settings will wipe all phone data so if you’re not locked out of the phone you should first try and perform a back up. The restoration won’t delete data saved on your SIM
