Vodafone customers are able to block their lost or stolen mobile device from being used on any network (voice and text only)
This is part of an industry-wide initiative being rolled out to help reduce the problem of mobile phone theft. Once a device is reported as lost or stolen, its International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number can be blocked, making sure that it is rendered virtually worthless to thieves as it no longer works across all networks.
An IMEI number is your mobile device's (mobile phones and mobile broadband devices) unique 15-digit serial number. Each mobile device has its own IMEI, which is used to identify, and effectively disable, your device.
look on the device itself as, in the case of mobile broadband modems, the IMEI number is usually on a sticker.
If Step 1 is unsuccessful; from your phone's home screen, enter the following code:*#06# (star, hash, zero, six, hash)
Press the "dial" button.
This should display the IMEI number for your device.
If Step 4 is unsuccessful, you can contact Vodafone Customer Care on 1555 from your Vodafone phone.
