Would you leave $1000 unattended when you go out?

We don't often think of our phones as a cash value, but thieves do. So when you're out it's important to be careful with your phone always keeping it in sight or in a safe place.

Here are some tips to help you protect your phone

  • Always be aware of your surroundings when using your phone in a public place
  • Use your phone security lock code or PIN to stop anyone else making unauthorised calls
  • When out and about, keep your phone on your person rather than in a handbag or jacket placed somewhere else
  • If you leave your phone in your car, keep the car locked and the phone out of sight
  • Even in places familiar to you, such as your workplace, keep your phone with you or in a secure place out of sight
  • Don't take your phone with you when you are swimming at the beach or in a pool. Leave the phone at home or locked and out of sight in your car
